SaaS assumptions break when agents hit APIs.
PJ-shared doctrine 2026-05-12 morning (from @nate.b.jones video). Names the ECONOMIC version of the augmentation doctrine. SaaS pricing/access/UX was built for users clicking seat tools. Agents are API actors — no seats, no clicks, just systems moving. Vendors will resist this because per-seat pricing IS their revenue model. SideGuy's augmentation layer thrives in the agent-economy because it doesn't depend on seats.

01Why this matters
The agent-economy is happening whether vendors like it or not. The buyers who win are the ones with augmentation layers between their agents and the seat-tool stack they're already locked into.
02How to apply
What to actually do
- ❌ Don't position SideGuy as "alternative to [seat tool]"
- ✅ Position as "the augmentation layer your agents hit when seat-tool UX breaks"
- For every vendor in compliance / outbound / CRM clusters, add a "Agent-Economy Readiness" section: does this vendor have an API-first product, or just a seat tool with an API afterthought?
- "Your agents are about to hit your existing SaaS stack. Most of those tools were built for humans clicking. SideGuy builds the parallel layer that lets your agents move at API speed without the workflow theater."
- "Per-seat SaaS pricing dies when agents are the users. Vendors will rename it 'agent fees' to extract the same dollars. SideGuy's augmentation layer doesn't depend on seats — pay once, own forever, ship at API speed."
03The closer
