Two Encinitas product people, different lanes.

For a Senior Product Leader who lives in the same town I do. Different scale, adjacent craft. Wrote you a page instead of a DM, because you've shipped enough roadmaps to know the difference.

Why a page and not a DM

You've been in product 10+ years and you've been pitched by every flavor of vendor on LinkedIn for most of them. A standard DM from me would slot in next to the other forty this week and disappear. So I built you a page โ€” partly because the lane I work in is "the message becomes the artifact," and partly because you'll read it the way a product person reads a spec instead of the way a buyer reads a pitch.

The lane I work, in one paragraph

SideGuy is the human routing layer that exists after the roadmap is approved. When a customer-facing PM says "we shipped the feature but adoption is half what we projected," or an ops lead asks "which of our three internal AI tools should I actually use to run this thing," or a founder says "translate this AI hype into something my team can actually operationalize on Monday" โ€” that's the gap I land in. Async, flat-priced, no SOWs, no decks. Operator-translation, not consulting.

Enterprise SaaS gets the platform shipped. The routing layer is what helps the humans on the other side actually use it the way the roadmap promised they would.

Where our lanes don't overlap (and where they touch)

Different lanes, adjacent edges
Enterprise SaaS at scale (your craft)

Single-operator routing (mine)

The same craft instinct shows up in both lanes โ€” turning a tangled stakeholder question into "here's what we should do, in this order, by when." You do it for engineering and SI partners across a SaaS platform. I do it for individual operators trying to figure out which AI tool is actually worth running this quarter. Same muscle, different scope.

Why I'm reaching out

Two reasons. One โ€” you live five minutes from me, and Encinitas has more product / SaaS / AI people per square mile than people realize, but most of us never end up in the same room. Two โ€” Verimatrix sits at a layer (security, video, IoT) where customer success is heavily about the humans on the receiving end actually doing the right thing with the platform. That's adjacent enough to my lane that if you ever have a buyer who needs the operator-translation side handled while your team holds the platform side, I'd rather you know I exist than not.

The ask is small

No meeting, no demo, no deck. If anything in this read tracks โ€” as a peer in the same town, or as someone who occasionally has people in your orbit who'd benefit from the routing-layer move โ€” the next step is a text. If it doesn't, no follow-ups, no funnel, no nurture sequence. (You'd notice if there was one anyway.)
