Where's my SDG&E Climate Credit?

It used to land on April and October bills. In 2026 the state moved it to the months when bills are highest. Here's what you got, when, and what's next.

No residential electric credit on October 2026 bills. SDG&E already paid it: $49.36 in August and $49.36 in September, $98.72 in all. The next electric credits come in August and September 2027.

It's automatic: there is nothing to sign up for, and it shows as a credit on your SDG&E bill.

SDG&E Climate Credit, 2026

WhoAmountWhen
Homes, electric$49.36 + $49.36August and September 2026
Homes, natural gas$32.58April 2026 (February from 2027)
Small business, electric$49.36 + $49.36April and October 2026 (unchanged)

Small businesses still get theirs in April and October, so a shop owner may see one on the October bill while the house does not.

Why it moved

On April 30, 2026 the California Public Utilities Commission moved the residential credit from April and October, when bills are low, to the high-bill months: August and September for electric at PG&E, SCE and SDG&E, and February for natural gas starting in 2027. The money comes from the State's Cap-and-Invest program.

San Diego Community Power or Clean Energy Alliance?

You still get it. SDG&E says residential customers of community choice providers receive the Climate Credit on their SDG&E bill.
