North County vote centers: polls closed

Every vote center from the Registrar of Voters' own list, which are open now, and the closest one to your town.

Short answer: Polls closed at 8pm on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov 3. The Registrar says official results "will begin displaying at approximately 8:01 p.m." on sdvote.com; election-night numbers aren't final, and Dec 3 is the deadline to certify. A mailed ballot still counts if it was postmarked by Nov 3 and reaches the Registrar by Nov 10.

"You can vote at any vote center in San Diego County," per the Registrar of Voters, so the closest open one works even if it isn't in your town. The unofficial count: North County election results.

What if I'm in line when the polls close at 8pm?

Stay in line: you can still vote. The San Diego County Registrar of Voters says anyone in line at 8 p.m. may cast a ballot, but no one may join the line after 8 p.m. The California Voter Bill of Rights gives you "the right to vote if you are still in line when the polls close."

Can I register and vote on Election Day in California?

Yes. Same Day Voter Registration, called Conditional Voter Registration in state law, lets eligible citizens register or re-register within 14 days of an election and vote at their county elections office, polling place or vote center, says the Secretary of State. The ballot is counted once the county verifies the registration.

What are vote center hours on Election Day 2026?

Every vote center is open 7am to 8pm on Tuesday, Nov 3, 2026.

When will San Diego election results be posted?

The Registrar of Voters says official results begin displaying at approximately 8:01 p.m. on election night, Nov 3, 2026, at sdvote.com. Election-night numbers are not final; Dec 3 is the deadline to certify the election.

Why is my San Diego County ballot two cards, and how do I vote faster at a vote center?

The County Registrar of Voters says the November 3, 2026 election includes a two-card ballot, so fill in and return both cards. To save time at a vote center, review your voter information pamphlet first and mark your choices on the sample ballot; you can bring it to copy them onto the official ballot on the Ballot Marking Device. All vote centers open daily, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from October 31, and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on November 3. Questions: sdvote.com or 858-565-5800 (toll-free 800-696-0136).

Can I register and vote the same day at a vote center?

Yes. The County says that at a vote center you can "register to vote or update your voter registration and vote on the same day." You can also drop off your mail ballot, or vote in person on a ballot marking device or with the ballot you got in the mail. From Saturday, Oct. 31, 221 vote centers are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily; on Nov. 3 they stay open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (County of San Diego News Center, Oct. 23, 2026). Not sure where to go?
