Got a letter from the IRS, Medicare, EDD, Covered California or the County? Most have a clock that starts on the date printed on the letter, not the day you opened it. Pick yours, enter that date, and see the deadline and how many days you have left, with the rule in the agency's own words.

Where PJ helps

Deadlines get missed because the letter sits in a pile. PJ, a local in Solana Beach, will sit down with the pile, find the dates, and help fill in the forms and online accounts. He doesn't give tax or legal advice; for that he'll point you to free help. Text PJ.

Rules from each agency's own page or form, linked above, read October 12, 2026. If your letter prints a different date or window, the letter wins. The calculator runs on your phone; nothing you enter is sent anywhere. Weekends are skipped for "work days"; holidays aren't. This page is an independent local guide, not any of these agencies.
