Before it rains

  • Sandbags, free: every County and CAL FIRE site, nearest Solana Beach first. Bring a shovel where there's loose sand, and call first.
  • Get alerts: sign up for AlertSanDiego through ReadySanDiego (phone, text, email).
  • Clear the gutters and the storm drain in front of the house, and move anything you care about up off the garage floor.

  • Know your risk: the home hazard check reads FEMA's flood map for your address.

  • Don't drive through water over the road: you can't see how deep it is or whether the road is still there. Freeway closures and cameras.
  • Everything happening now in one place: North County alerts today (weather, transit, outages, evacuation centers).
